Oh Masterji! I want to know where this masterji is located! He seems to be just superb!
I wanted to blog about this ad since the day I saw it for the first time, but today I do it!
Many would agree with me on how difficult is to rack your brains over the tailor to get things right. You tell him to do one thing and he does the other. You try to be as simple as possible but still he will complicate things on his own. You tell him long length kurta, and he will make it short. Story over! Nothing can be done to it now! You tell him to make a round neckline, he will make a pentagonal and moreover he will add his special comment that pentagonal neckline is in fashion. But, who shall explain him that you need no fashion but basics! You ask him to deliver it on a particular day and he would conveniently forget in-spite of reminding him for several times. And you would have noticed, no tailor notes down the minute instructions you are giving. And when asked why is he not doing so, he will proudly say "sab yaad rahega, madam!" DuH!
I hope this vodafone tailor delivers the net + chikan sleeve and the cris-cross back dori with no faults and alterations!
How I wish I would want this tailor!
Over the past month, I've been to Crawford Market thrice and every time I've bought pebbles for planters in my balcony. I have a few kilos of them now :) I want to make these pebbles into rocks... thinking of what and how the rocky-ness can happen...?!
Diwali preparations, family and friends kept me busy. Colorful rangoli, tasty faral and pretty patterns all around, what more do you need for a Happy Diwali!
One of my design at Neiman Marcus YaY! :) and more love for paisleys ! Like it?!
Ziaa or Zia means 'design' in Baite language. Learnt this during my two moths of Meghalaya exploration. Biate is a Mizo tribe residing in Saipung area in the Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.
Do you remember one more of my beaded runner here..
Do you also have these uninvited guests on your walls as well? Tell me about them! I get super annoyed by these spirally flying moths and I feel that they will plunge into my ears or just dive in my freshly cooked curry. Aarrghh!! It is ok if they are stranded on the wall but it adds on to the task of sweeping the next morning. So this way or the other they do not stop their annoyance.
Well, the wall at my desk was their target last night. The wall had a scattered confetti look which I liked. But the liking was restricted for few minutes and I quickly took a picture of it.
What do you think? Does it make a different picture?
A plan for past one point five years has materialized few weeks ago. Planted a tulsi sapling in my balcony, an added company to my croton, money plant and ganesh vel!
Indeed the tulsi fills the home with its holy-ness
Yesterday, I made tri-color salad for a healthy independence evening; using carrots, boiled potato and sprouted green chickpeas, with optimum salt-pepper-sugar and lime juice.
I was bored with the boring paper resumes, so thought how about having a fabric resume?
And yes, the thought materialised with printed poplins backed with leftover khadi, ikats, blockprints and some dobby weaves; to be rolled and tied like scrolls :)
In a newsletter from Sanjeev Kapoor, I read the recipe of Carrot Jam. Sounded exciting and healthy as well! Ingredients were pretty basic except from something called as "pectin". In search of pectin, I discovered many other interesting aspects in the world of ingredients. But unfortunately couldn't source the pectin**sigh**sigh**
Today, being the day of colors, I thought I should make the carrot jam be it without pectin. And here it happens...! I don't want to praise myself, but husband says "it's yummy"! :)
Find recipe here, though I have made my own version of the jam garnished with sliced almonds and colorful sugar balls from Arife La Moulde @ Crawford Market
While I was googling for pectin, I read about edible glitter. Exciting! I wanted to have one pack for myself and in search of this I reached Arife La Moulde, Shop # 556, Crawford Market, a shop that keeps the very famous edible glitter manufactured by Wilton in the US. But **sigh**sigh** it was out of stock. And instead of the edible glitter I bought these edible colorful sugar balls to make my dishes colorful.
It's the arrival of spring and its the
Holi Happiness!
Loads of wishes to all of you on the festival of Colors!
A super energy boost! But, I couldn't find this color in my pantone fan... and then I realized that 17-1463 Tangerine Tango is one of the 75 new colors introduced few months back!! It's time to get updated!!!
